The Empresa de Assistência Técnica e Extensão Rural do Estado de Minas Gerais (Emater–MG / Company of Technical Assistance and Rural Extension of the State of Minas Gerais) is the largest public company in the sector on Brazil. Founded in 1948, it was also the first created in Brazil. Currently, the Emater-MG is located in nearly 790 municipalities of the state, and its work is a national reference. Linked to the Secretaria de Estado da Agricultura, Abastecimento, Aquicultura e Pesca (Seag) [Secretary of State for Agriculture, Supply, Aquaculture and Fisheries ] the company is responsible for the attendance of nearly 400,000 farmers from Minas Gerais.
Over the years, the Emater – MG built a strong partnership with both public and private sectors.
